Occasional Choirs

The Melbourne Mastersingers

This choir of men has in some years existed as a separate ensemble, and has shared concerts with the Melbourne Women’s Choir.

It has occasionally consisted of the men of the Melbourne Chamber Choir performing for a special occasion. One such has been the launching of a Moet & Chandon champagne line, for which the men, costumed in monks robes, sang Gregorian Chant for about an hour. Great atmosphere for the purpose!

Chorelation

This chamber ensemble has existed in two forms:

As the choir which produced the lovely CD What Sweeter Music Can We Sing? Which can be purchased here.

As a choir to perform music for special occasions. Two of these have been to provide music for a TV special promoting Work-cover to be the chorus for Dreamtime, an opera by Tim Sexton, performed in the Melbourne Summer Music Festival.
