2006combo

In three glorious art galleries at spectacular artist colony Montsalvat in Eltham you can hear 5 choral concerts in 5 hours. The range of music to enrich your spirit will include the voices of children, youth and adults in sacred and secular works and in classical, modern, gospel, French specialty and Welsh specialty works across the ages.

You will hear the host choirs sing colourful music – the Melbourne Chamber Choir will present a dextrous and humorous programme whose centre-piece will be Who Killed Cock Robin by Martin Wesley-Smith; and will also premiere Pied Chorale by May Andrewartha. The Melbourne Women’s Choir will sing gipsy and folk songs, including the glorious Romantic era Gipsy Songs of Antonin Dvorak.

A special feature of this year’s Choral@Montsalvat will be the premiere of several original compositions, which will be celebrated together in the final hour of this festival day.
